AZIZI Industries LLC – S.P.C. has awarded POMINI Long Rolling Mills a contract for the supply of equipment and services for a new rebar rolling mill to be established in the Khalifa Economic Zone of Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), United Arab Emirates.
This key project represents a significant milestone in Azizi’s industrial expansion strategy. The realization of a state-of-the-art rebar rolling mill will make AZIZI Industries self-sufficient in terms of steel rebar procurement, reinforcing its long-term commitment to supporting infrastructural and residential growth in the United Arab Emirates.
The choice of POMINI Long Rolling Mills guarantees Azizi Industries not only the supply of a sustainable, flexible plant with a long operating life, but also access to unique know-how and specialized support with a long-standing track record in the Gulf region.
The rolling mill will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes and will produce steel reinforced bars.
The straight bar production line uses a high-speed rotating drum for small rounds from 8 to 18 mm and braking slide line for larger diameter bars up to 50 mm, with bundles weighing up to 5 tonnes. The coiling line will include a V+COIL™ coiling station for obtaining coils weighing up to 2 tonnes of bars with diameters from 8 to 16 mm.
The plant has the provision for the future installation of an ERT-EBROS billet welding machine, enabling the weight of the spooled rebar to be increased up to 5 tonnes.
POMINI Long Rolling Mills will also provide technical training services as well as assistance during installation and commissioning of the plant.
The start-up of the new rolling mill is scheduled for the second half of 2027.
