POMINI Long Rolling Mills wins the project for the expansion of a continuous rolling mill for the Riva Group

POMINI Long Rolling Mills has received a contract from Riva Acciaio SPA for a project to expand the continuous rolling mill at the Cerveno (Brescia, Italy) facility. The project is part of the plan for the plant modernization.

The facility processes both carbon and quality steels.

The main supply includes two Red Ring 572 stands, one horizontal and one vertical, with a maximum working distance of 720 mm and a barrel length of 950 mm; it includes also the corresponding reduction units with a new lubrication system.

The mechanical supply will be completed with two standby stands, rolling guides from BRG (a company owned by POMINI Long Rolling Mills), spare parts, and other components.

The electrical part will include AC motors for the new stands and a new control panel; it will also include a new MCC (Motor Control Center) for controlling the new lubrication unit.

POMINI Long Rolling Mills will also provide additional engineering services, installation and startup support, as well as services for obtaining CE marking certification.

The startup is expected in the second half of 2025.
The two stands will be installed upstream of the existing intermediate and finishing trains, where other Red Ring Series 4 stands are currently in operation - supplied by POMINI Long Rolling Mills in the 1990s.

By adding the new stands, the configuration of the current continuous rolling mill is being simplified.
